Balance 03:14
See the tides give and take, I try to take my time, I try to take my time. Feel the rhythm you’re alive. One man’s born another dies. The landscape’s changed, can’t find my way, are you waiting there for me? are you waiting there for me? Feel the rhythm you’re alive. One man’s born another dies. I talk to Jack into the night, but the night holds nothing new, no the night holds nothing new. Feel the rhythm you’re alive. One man’s born another dies. Dig a hole, something will fill it, my head’s still full of dreams, yeah my head’s still full of dreams. Feel the rhythm you’re alive. One man’s born another dies.

As I sing the leaves are falling down, birds fly up high. A breeze blows all around me, dark clouds forming in the sky. As I sing a boy spins round in circles, a dog waits patiently. I feel the first chill of Autumn, but this is where I want to be. As I sing I hear a couple argue, a man puts out his cigarette. The song I really want to sing is one I haven’t written yet. As I sing the leaves are falling down, birds fly up high. A breeze blows all around me, dark clouds forming in the sky.

Did you peep through your eyelashes when told to pray at school? Did you often find yourself questioning the rules? Please tell me, yeah tell me I wasn’t the only one. Do you sometimes feel like the string on a balloon, drifting aimlessly wherever the wind takes you? Please tell me, yeah tell me I’m not the only one. These days it always seems I’m always running out of time, but I keep singing my song louder every day….. In this ever changing world I need you to be the same. Your glass is not half empty so talk to me again and tell me, please tell me I’m the only one, the only one, the only one.

Clusters of tourists, like bees in a swarm, hum round the streets now the air is getting warm and it feels like Summer’s on its way. Groups flow around, me like water round a stone. Nowhere in this city you can be alone and it feels like Summer has her way. But it’s hailing one day heatwave the next. The ice creams keep selling as we bury our heads. Clusters of tourists, like bees in a swarm, hum round the streets now the air is getting warm, but it feels like Summer’s lost its way.

Sunday Song 03:56
I throw things from the plane to make it lighter. Clearing out my boat so it won’t sink. I’m always taking shortcuts to find a different way. There’s nothing new under these skies. We’re all saying the same thing. I’m trying to move forwards, but things keep bouncing back. A satellite needs energy to get up into space, then it goes round on its own. Just need someone to nudge me, I’ll be alright again. There’s nothing new under these skies. We’re all saying the same thing. I’m trying to move forwards, but things keep bouncing back. My list of things to do is growing longer, maybe I should throw it all away, sing my Sunday song again and play. So I throw things from the plane to make it lighter. Clearing out my boat so it won’t sink. I’m always taking shortcuts to find a different way. There’s nothing new under these skies. We’re all saying the same thing. I’m trying to move forwards, but things keep bouncing back.

I’m sitting at the bottom of the sea, sitting at the bottom of the sea, trying to get the world to talk to me. It’s cool and it’s calm, at the bottom of the sea. No choices to make, no choices to make, lots of weird fishes swim round me. I’ll come back when I’m ready, from the bottom of the sea. Yes it’s all in my head, yes it’s all in my head, but maybe it’s as real as you and me. It’s easier to breath, at the bottom of the sea. So I’m sitting at the bottom of the sea, sitting at the bottom of the sea, trying to get the world to talk to me. It’s cool and it’s calm, at the bottom of the sea.

You were born in the early morning of a late Summer’s day. I walked in the room to see you and knew nothing would be the same. You’re starting on a magical journey. You’re taking us along for the ride. We were getting old and tired, now we’re seeing it all again, through your eyes. First you just saw blurry faces of all of us you’d come to know. Now when you smile at me, yeah the whole world falls away. You’re starting on a magical journey. You’re taking us along for the ride. We were getting old and tired, now we’re seeing it all again, through your eyes. Seems time is speeding up now. You’re changing every day. Sit back and watch the story, a story one day you will tell…. Yeah, you’re starting on a magical journey. You’re taking us along for the ride. We were getting old and tired, now we’re seeing it all again, through your eyes.

Magic Paints 03:28
I have got some magic paints, everything I paint with them comes true. I’m mixing up some red and yellow and lots and lots of blue. Yeah I will paint a perfect day for you. I’ll paint all of your favourite things and lots you’re never seen. Some of them will be so strange you’ll think you’re in a dream. I’ll paint some cows in sky blue pink, some pigs fluorescent green, a spotty cat with sixteen legs eating an ice cream. Yeah I have got some magic paints, everything I paint with them comes true. I’m mixing up some red and yellow and lots and lots of blue. Yeah I will paint a perfect day for you. I’ll paint a rocket that will take us right up to the moon. There we’ll eat some floating peas with a giant spoon. I’ll paint us up some aliens, we’ll take them home with us. We will get some funny looks when we get on the bus! Yeah I have got some magic paints, everything I paint with them comes true. I’m mixing up some red and yellow and lots and lots of blue. Yeah I will paint a perfect day for you. When I’m old and getting bored, need something new to see, then it will be time for you to paint something for me. For now I’ll make the most of it before the paints run dry. I’ll paint us a hot sunny day and wings so we can fly. Yeah I have got some magic paints, everything I paint with them comes true. I’m mixing up some red and yellow and lots and lots of blue. Yeah I will paint a perfect day for you, I will paint a perfect day for you, yeah I will paint a perfect day for you!

The smell of Calor Gas takes me right back to a caravan in Yarmouth in the 60’s. Long days on the beach, picnics under clear blue skies. I wish that I could feel that way again. Oh it takes me back. Close my eyes and I am there, in a caravan in Yarmouth in the 60’s. Meeting up with cousins, Aunts and Uncles, Grandparents, feeling safe behind our wind break. Eating peaches on the sand, juice runs down to our elbows, go and wash it off in the sea. Oh it takes me back. Close my eyes and I am there, in a caravan in Yarmouth in the 60’s. Evenings at the fun fair, full of laughter and of fear, screams and music blending together. Roller coaster, laughing policeman, fun house, helter skelter, going round and round and round again…. Went back last year, the caravan site’s now a car park, the magic at the fun fair wasn’t there. But, the smell of Calor Gas takes me right back to a caravan in Yarmouth in the 60’s. And I wish that I could feel that way again, yeah I wish that I could feel that way again, I wish that I could feel that way again.

In, Out 03:54
I like my questions multiple choice. I want true bypass on my voice. I always wear my jeans in, wear them in before I wear them out. We used to try to find a way to get around you every day. The trouble we were in, we were in when you found us out. Money doesn’t grow on trees, but banks they make no sense to me. I put my money in, I put it in and then I take it out. There’s a lot of songs inside, so open that cigar box wide. The box that they are in, they are in ‘til you let them out. I like my questions multiple choice. I want true bypass on my voice. I always wear my jeans in, wear them in before I wear them out, yeah I wear them out.

Cogs forever turning, they never stop. Sometimes it all lines up. It’s a perfect moment, a perfect moment. A chord is a surface where things can grow. Play above, sing below, yeah sometimes it all lines up. It’s a perfect moment, a perfect moment. You climb a mountain in the pouring rain. See a rainbow forget the pain. Sometimes it all lines up. It’s a perfect moment, a perfect moment. I write a song, lose track of time. Don’t want to make it rhyme, but sometimes it all lines up. It’s a perfect moment, a perfect moment. Go and sing it on the street. The sun comes out, I feel the beat. Yeah sometimes it all lines up. It’s a perfect moment, a perfect moment, a perfect moment.

The Enemy 03:53
If I think hard I can float, just above my enemy, but it feels like I’m running, running out of energy. Sipping whiskey from the bottle, genie bottled up. Forget everything you know and start again. You said I sound like cool water, didn’t feel the undertow. Sometimes life gets in the way of where you want to go. Sipping whiskey from the bottle, feelings bottled up. Forget everything you know and start again. The weeds are coming up now, they’re pushing through the cracks. I’m just painting by numbers ‘till the feeling comes back. Now the whiskey bottle’s empty, it’s time to let it go. Forget everything you know and start again.

I am stuck in this endless white and blue. All depends on two points in the snow and I feel so alive, in this endless white and blue. I’m just a picture on a table in a room. You sip your coffee as my crunching rhythm slows. Do you feel so alive, in your endless white and blue? When it’s over and I go down to the world, the ice she calls me back to do a harder climb, ‘cos I feel so alive in that endless white and blue, ‘till one day the endless white and blue fades to black…
