Track Name: English Summer
I’m standing in a shop doorway
hiding from the rain.
It’s a five minute pause and then,
here we go again.

Chorus
Flip flopping my way
through the summer days,
white arrows on my feet
show the way to go.
Tripping over clichés
as I try to find
something new
to say about the summer.

An English summer has to be too hot,
or else it is too cold.
Need something to talk about,
distract us from the world.

Chorus

You’ve got to make the most of it
when the sun shines down on you,
‘cos it can all be whipped away,
nothing you can do.

Chorus

I have my head up in the clouds
a big part of the day.
It’s a pretty good way to spend your time
until they blow away.

Flip flopping my way
through the summer days,
white arrows on my feet
show the way to go.
Tripping over clichés
as I try to find
something new
to say about the summer.
Yeah something new to say about the summer.
There’s nothing new to say about the summer.
Track Name: Head Full Of Songs
I’ve got a head,
a head full of songs.
A car park ticket tucked in my back pocket.
The next four hours belong to me.
I stroll on down the hill
to the city below.

I stop to rest
on top of the bridge,
let the feeling of the river flow into me.
I see the young guys
selling rides,
they’re talking ‘bout what happened
the night before.

On past the cafes,
they try to tempt me in,
but I keep on walking, weaving
through the crowds.
I hear the sound
of distant music
and I know that favourite
spot is gone.

Yeah I’ve got a head,
a head full of songs
and I have found a place
to sing them to you.
La la la la la …..
Track Name: The Books We Read
The books we read,
they shape our mind.
Life is elsewhere
while we’re eating fire.
It’s a wild sheep chase.
We can’t see the joke.
This is the book
of laughter and forgetting.

Chorus
And the world is full of ignorance,
as we dance, dance, dance after dark.
And the world is full of ignorance,
as we dance, dance, dance,
to the end of the world.

I want to see
behind the door.
Truth is surfacing
about life before man.
It’s a wild sheep chase.
We can’t see the joke.
This is the song
of laughter and forgetting.

Chorus

The books we read,
they shape our mind.
Life is elsewhere
While we’re eating fire.
Track Name: Pebbles
You and I are pebbles,
pebbles in a stream,
water flowing over us,
wearing us down.

You and I are wires
twisted together,
twisted ‘till we don’t even know
who we are.
You and I are wires
twisted together long ago.

You and I are branches,
branches on a tree.
The leaves have fallen off
and now you see
the spaces in between.
Yeah the spaces in between,
that’s where it all seems to be,
yeah.
You and I are pebbles,
pebbles in a stream,
life is flowing over us,
wearing us down,
wearing us down,
wearing us down.
Track Name: Top Of The Tree
The sun comes up, the sun goes down,
and everything is changing all the time.
I breathe in, I breath out,
now you’re not here and nothing is the same.

I fill my glass, I empty it,
we all drink more since you are not around.
You were here, then you were gone,
and I’m still trying hard to understand.

I was young, now I’m old,
and I am at the top of the tree.
Don’t wanna be on top of the tree.
Not ready for the top of the tree.
Track Name: Fruit Lady
My heart is made of mango
and my fingers are ten ripe bananas.
My head’s a big fat melon
and my toes are segments of a tangerine,

Chorus
‘cos I’m the fruit lady, yeah yeah.
I’m the fruit lady, yeah yeah.
I’m the fruit lady, yeah yeah yeah yeah.

Well if I’m feeling hungry
I’ll eat two of my fingers and grow some more.
And when I run too fast my lychee eyes
pop out and roll along the floor,

Chorus

Sometimes I get sad
and I cry tears of lemonade.
I cry until I’ve filled a glass,
then go outside and drink it in the shade,

Chorus
Track Name: This Song Isn't True
Chorus
This song isn’t true.
Made it up just for you.
Well people never lie
and the sun will always shine.
This song isn’t true.

There’s a God up in the sky.
You’ll go to heaven when you die.
Every man should have a gun,
every father, every son.
There’s a God up in the sky.

Chorus

We haven’t messed up this world,
still got time to turn it round.
The air’s pollution free,
there’s plenty more fish in the sea.
We haven’t messed up this world.

Chorus

This is a happy song,
makes you want to sing along.
It’s good not to think
and to drown yourself in drink.
Yeah this is a happy song.

Chorus
Track Name: Musical Lives
Lines and marks upon your face
are a map of where you’ve been,
but they don’t show me where to go.
Radio on the windowsill.
No one ever turns it on.
I hear it playing in my head.

Chorus
When the music stops we all sit down,
when it starts again we all rush around.

Looking through binoculars
the wrong way round,
I see back to where you were.
Faded scenes in black and white
dance around before my eyes,
leading back to where I stand.

Chorus

In a box I find a key
to a door that isn’t there,
I keep it anyway.
And the soundtrack of our lives
keeps playing day and night,
all feeling the same beat.

When the music stops we all sit down,
when it starts again we all rush around.
When the music stops,
yeah when the music stops,
what happens,
when the music stops?
Track Name: One Step Forward, Two Steps Back
Chorus
It’s one step forward,
two steps back.
One step forward,
and two steps back.

Been swimming against the tide
for so long now.
Hasn’t got me very far,
but I’m not gonna drown.

Chorus

I thought we’d talked it over,
thought we’d got it straight,
but today you start to say
the same old things.

Chorus

Seasons are flipping by,
colours change.
Everything has got to die
before it grows again.

Chorus
Track Name: Lost Together
You’re terrified of silence
so you keep talking all the time.
Can’t keep spinning plates forever,
one day they’ve got to fall.
But if we all get lost together
we might not feel lost at all.

You make your plans and they get broken,
so you take one day at a time.
Don’t know which way you’re going,
just start walking anyway.
But if we all get lost together
we might not feel lost at all.

You’re terrified of silence
so you keep talking all the time.
Can’t keep spinning plates forever,
one day they've got to fall.
Track Name: Pass It On
Points of light in the blackness,
been there for so long.
It’s time to join them up.

Chorus
And we all hear the story,
listen,
pass it on.

Is it all, or is it nothing?
I can never tell,
but you showed me where to look.

Chorus

Start a fire in the morning,
never let it die.
Stare all night into the flames.

Chorus

Points of light in the blackness,
been there for so long.
It’s time to say goodbye.
